Historical landmark home of Italian Immigrant, Antonio Meucci, his seamstress wife Esterre and his house-guest, Italian General Giuseppe Garibaldi. In this home, moved from the Clifton section to present day Rosebank, Meucci utilized his invention of the telephone while Alexander Graham Bell was still a young boy. A visit to the house will educate you about Meucci's inventions, trials and tribulations and a close up view of the bedroom where Giuseppe Garibaldi slept while he lived with the couple during his time in Staten Island, New York.
This is a very interesting little museum about the real person who invented the telephone and the son of the Italian revolution.
Nice little daytrip outing for those that enjoy old homes and hostory.
Lovely, interesting small place. Very interesting displays. Worth a trip, spend 2 hours.
