A hidden treasure in Staten Island! Knowledgeable guides, a must visit, short walk from the Ferry! Learn the science and history of local lighthouses and on the ferry trip back to Manhattan see the Robin's Reef and Statue of Liberty lighthouses with new appreciation.
If you take the Staten Island Ferry to see Miss Liberty don't take the next Ferry back. Spare some time and visit the Lighthouse Museum. It's just some minutes away from the ferry terminal. It's really worth a visit.
This was an excellent find. Tina and Wade were 2 of the nicest people we have ever met. Their passion and enthusiastic way of presenting the information in the museum was refreshing. Great history and a hidden gem! Thank you!!
Informative but small. Excellent staff.
And if Bob is there, he gives you a great introduction into lighthouse history and the the Lighthouse Museum.
Historically significant! Place where all things for light houses were developed, especially a special kind if lighting that is also used for theater and stage lighting. Staff were very knowledgeable and it was obvious they loved their jobs.
Hard to find by car and has small free parking lot.
