Good service and clean rooms.
Breakfast isn't made early enough and when I ask for a wake up call I never got it. They said breakfast starts at 6am. Please correct me if I'm wrong cause I may be staying there for the next 3 weeks maybe
In transition to becoming Marriott hotel. Sales manager screwed up royally by not informing bride and groom hotel has no liquor license. Rooms not cleaned during entire 3 night stay. Insufficient supply of towels with every room sold out. Guests not informed restaurant not open for breakfast one morning due to private party. Staff tried their best though. Overall, lousy communication, poor experience. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Very solidly built hotel. I could not hear the people above or beside me. The staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean but my room was a little musty, luckily the windows open and the room aired out quickly.
Not in a great location, poor approach from main road. Inadequate parking.
This hotel is oddly located right beside a Comfort Inn and what appears to have been another Holiday Inn, but is now a custom place. It is a pretty typical Holiday Inn Express, so if you've been to one, you know what you are getting. A few details about this one though: The front desk night lady was very nice and went out of her way to help with things. The breakfast DOES have the pancake machine that most but not all of the Holiday Inn Expresses have, so it's better than your average continental breakfast. The ATM wasn't working, but that is likely temporary. The bed is so-so comfortable, not great but not bad. And the location is such that there is no road noise, which is a plus. Lastly, the room is pretty small, but that is the nature of hotels in NYC. One small aside, staying on Staten island is not a great idea if you can instead stay in New Jersey or in Brooklyn, because you have to pay expensive tolls for every single bridge coming into the island. That isn't this Holiday Inn's fault, bit something to be aware of. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel is you have to stay on Staten Island.
